I started down the path to become an artist when I was a child, expressing my fascination with nature through drawings and watercolor paintings of birds, flora, and landscapes. As a teenager my artistic interests grew to include a wide variety of subject matter and media. My efforts began to get noticed beyond family and friends, and were starting to receive recognition. Soon, individuals and businesses were commissioning me to create artistic works, which eventually evolved into a small business. It was during this period that I acquired a used 35mm camera, and I was instantly captivated by the creative potential of this tool. This event marked the beginning of my journey to interpret the world though abstractions of light and hue: the photograph. It's been a great delight and privilege to devote a full-time effort to this awesome endeavor.
A few notes about my photographs: I take several measures to help ensure those who purchase my prints are delighted by the realism, color vibrancy, and detail of the finished product. In addition to using state-of-the-art cameras and lenses, I am diligent in calculating exposures to achieve the highest tonal range possible for the given situation; obsessive about achieving tack-sharp focus; exercise skill and care in the color management process; and only offer print sizes that I know will produce quality results. My images typically range from a native 21 megapixel to 83 megapixel size.
Okay, enough about me and the techy talk. Enjoy perusing this collection, and if you're interested in taking any of my photo workshops, or would like to purchase fine-art prints, videos, and more, please visit www.amothmedia.com.
